Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MicroInterns (microinterns.app), operated by Microinterns Ltd.. By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use MicroInterns.

2. Your account

• Provide accurate information and keep your profile up to date.
• Keep your login details secure; you’re responsible for activity under your account.
• The role you choose at signup (student or employer) is fixed for your account.

3. How MicroInterns works

MicroInterns is a marketplace connecting students with short, real-world projects (“briefs”) posted by employers, with optional oversight from a Project Manager. Employers may run up to three interns on the same brief in parallel and decide who, if anyone, to hire. A skill becomes a verified credential only when an employer signs off on delivered work.

4. Acceptable use

• Don’t post unlawful, misleading, discriminatory or infringing content.
• Don’t misrepresent your identity, skills or your organisation.
• Don’t misuse the platform, attempt to break its security, or scrape data.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully in project workspaces.

5. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you submit, and grant us a licence to host and display it as needed to run the service. Ownership of work delivered under a brief, and any payment or stipend, is a matter to be agreed between the employer and the intern — MicroInterns is not a party to that arrangement unless expressly stated.

6. Verified credentials

Credentials are issued based on an employer’s sign-off and carry a cryptographic proof. We take reasonable steps to keep them tamper-evident but do not guarantee how any third party will interpret or rely on them.

7. Payments

Any stipend or payment for a project is arranged directly between the employer and the intern. Where MicroInterns introduces escrow or payment features in future, additional terms will apply.

8. Availability and changes

We may update, suspend or withdraw features, and may change these terms. If a change is material we’ll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your Account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

10. Liability

MicroInterns is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct of other users or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and the courts of the United Kingdom.
